In a world where North America has been demolished by natural cause and from the ashes came Panem. Panem is a nation that has a Capital and 12 districts around it that has a job to support the nation and help it thrive. Each year there is the Hunger Games. This is a game that each district, 2 people come and fight to the death and who ever wins is a victor. This year a girl named Primrose is turning 12 and that is the age you have entered in the raffle. Katniss, Prim's sister, tells her that her chance of being picked is slimmer then hers because she is older. When a representative from the Capital comes to tell the people of the district who's going to be in the Hunger Games this year, her sister's name, Primrose, was called. Everyone turned to her and stared as she slowly walked to the representative. She stood there as the representative called the guy tribute. "Peeta Mellark" she called. He walked up as the beady eyes of the district were glued on to him. As the guard took the to tributes (Peeta and Primrose) to the train to leave for the Capital, Katniss yelled," I volunteer; I volunteer as tribute". She ran onto stage to her sister and grabbed her. The guards(or peacekeeper) came to take Katniss to the train for the Capital.......The adventure starts there and the story starts like that. I think that the Hunger Games were really good. It's kind touches about what the world would really be if Panem were real. I thought it also gave the insight about losing someone you really love or what sacrifices you would make for your love ones. It is packed with adventures and each book grows better (because it's a trilogy). I mean my favorite was the second one, Catching Fire, but they were all amazing. This was a thrilling book and I strongly advise you to read it. I rate it like a 4.5/5. Dig in. I bet you will enjoy!
