Matched

Image
Matched Author: Ally Condie Pages: 369 Published By: Dutton Books For Young Readers Published On: November 30, 2010 In the Society, officials decide. Who you love. Where you work. When you die. Cassia has always trusted their choices. It’s hardly any price to pay for a long life, the perfect job, the ideal mate. So when her best friend appears on the Matching screen, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is the one…until she sees another face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black. Now Cassia is faced with impossible choices: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she’s known and a path no one else has ever dared follow—between perfection and passion. Matched  is a story for right now and storytelling with the resonance of a classic. I thought this book was really good. I mean it was one of those slower books though. The ones with not much action happening. I think it's a good slow book to read as in a leisure book. I thought the plot w

Fairest

Fairest Author: Marissa Meyer Pages: 220 Published By: Feiwel & Friends Published On: January 27, 2015 In this stunning bridge book between  Cress  and  Winter  in the bestselling Lunar Chronicles, Queen Levana’s story is finally told. Mirror, mirror on the wall, Who is the fairest of them all? Fans of the Lunar Chronicles know Queen Levana as a ruler who uses her “glamour” to gain power. But long before she crossed paths with Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress, Levana lived a very different story – a story that has never been told . . . until now. Marissa Meyer spins yet another unforgettable tale about love and war, deceit and death. This extraordinary book includes full-color art and an excerpt from  Winter , the next book in the Lunar Chronicles series.   Wow. This book is really good. I mean I never thought that Levena would have such a bad childhood. I mean it's not fair what Channary did to her but still she can't go around abusing people. I mean her hus

Cress Author: Marissa Meyers Pages: 550 Published By: Feiwel & Friends Published On: Feburary 4, 2014 In this third book in the Lunar Chronicles, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, now with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and her army.  Their best hope lies with Cress, a girl imprisoned on a satellite since childhood who's only ever had her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker. Unfortunately, she’s just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.  When a daring rescue of Cress goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a high price. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing prevent her marriage to Emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only hope the world has. I thought this book was really good. It dragged on a little thou

Negativity

Image
Hi guys. I am making this post because I am seeing this happen around me and happen to me. Negativity. What is the point? Why are you putting someone else down? Do you actually care about their life? Why are you going out of the way to point out someone's flaws? They already know they are not perfect and you know that you aren't perfect either so you have no right to put someone down. You have no idea how depressing it is to hear one thing that can ruin your whole day. I've experienced that quite a few times. People sometimes don't understand what they do can hurt someone or they do but they don't care. We are living people too. We share this earth with you. This world can do without all the negativity that puts others down. People can live without being told what's wrong with them everyday. We don't care about your opinion and we know we aren't good enough or aren't pretty enough or we are bossy, clingy, imperfect. We can't help it. You may ca

Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone

Image
Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone Author: J.K. Rowling Pages: 310 Published By: Scholastic Published On: November 1, 2003 Harry Potter thinks he is an ordinary boy. He lives with his Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia and cousin Dudley, who are mean to him and make him sleep in a cupboard under the stairs. (Dudley, however, has two bedrooms, one to sleep in and one for all his toys and games.) Then Harry starts receiving mysterious letters and his life is changed forever. He is whisked away by a beetle-eyed giant of a man and enrolled at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The reason: Harry Potter is a wizard! The first book in the "Harry Potter" series  makes the perfect introduction to the world of Hogwarts. This is an AMAZING book!! I'm not even joking. My friend says it's ok?!?!?! WHAT!?!??! It's fantastic!!! The plot was eventful!! It was amazing!! I loved it!!! The main character is Harry Potter... If you don't know who he is..

The Outsiders

Image
The Outsiders Author: S.E. Hinton Pages: 192 Published By: Speak Published On: September 1, 1988 According to Ponyboy, there are two kinds of people in the world: greasers and socs. A soc (short for "social") has money, can get away with just about anything, and has an attitude longer than a limousine. A greaser, on the other hand, always lives on the outside and needs to watch his back. Ponyboy is a greaser, and he's always been proud of it, even willing to rumble against a gang of socs for the sake of his fellow greasers--until one terrible night when his friend Johnny kills a soc. The murder gets under Ponyboy's skin, causing his bifurcated world to crumble and teaching him that pain feels the same whether a soc or a greaser.   This book was sad. It was really sad. The plot was good; the structure of the book was good. I actually had to read this book for school. I'm glad I read it because it gave me a perceptive on what people will or might do

Image
Between The Lines Author: Jodi Picoult & Samantha Van Leer Pages: 353 Published By: Simon Pulse Simon Schuster Published On: June 26, 2012 Delilah is a bit of a loner who prefers spending her time in the school library with her head in a book—one book in particular. Between the Lines may be a fairy tale, but it feels real. Prince Oliver is brave, adventurous, and loving. He really speaks to Delilah. And then one day Oliver actually speaks to her. Turns out, Oliver is more than a one-dimensional storybook prince. He’s a restless teen who feels trapped by his literary existence and hates that his entire life is predetermined. He’s sure there’s more for him out there in the real world, and Delilah might just be his key to freedom. A romantic and charming story, this companion novel to Off the Page will make every reader believe in the fantastical power of fairy tales. -------- This book is really good!!! I have never read a book like this! I mean who would have thou
